What We're About
Building-integrated mining for homes and businesses
Our Mission
Exergy builds building-integrated mining systems — the hardware, software, and expertise to put Bitcoin miners where they belong: inside the buildings that are already spending energy or wasting it. Every joule becomes heat AND sats in winter. Every surplus solar watt becomes Bitcoin instead of a penny from the utility. No waste. No separate line item. The most useful thing a miner can do is work inside the building it's in.
Building-Integrated Mining
We design and install systems where Bitcoin miners are the energy infrastructure — not an add-on. In winter, the miner is sized to the building's heat load and integrated into existing HVAC. In summer, it routes excess solar through hashing instead of selling it back to the grid for pennies.
Open-Source First
Our control software runs on Home Assistant. Our integrations are open source. Our hardware roadmap is built on the 256 Foundation open-source stack. Transparency and community aren't marketing — they're the architecture.
The Useful Miner Principle
A miner doesn't need to be profitable to be worth running. It needs to be useful: heats the building cheaper, captures excess solar, or stacks sats on the margin. That's a much lower bar than industrial mining profitability — and it's a bar millions of buildings can clear.
Our Expertise
Industry Leaders
Our CEO wrote the first comprehensive book on hashrate heating - Examaning why this technology matters, who can benefit, how to implement it, and how much you can save.
Community Builders
Our Founders host the annual Heatpunk Summit - A first of its kind conference dedicated entierly to hashrate heating, covering technical developments to tradesmen education.
Engineers at Heart
Our experience encompasses thermal engineering, structural engineering, licensed professional certifications and skilled startup building with a bitcoiner focus.

Our Process
We've developed a multi-step approach to get your building-integrated mining system online.
Assess Your Building
Is building-integrated mining right for you?
We start with your building's heating load, energy costs, and energy stack — solar, fuel type, utility rate. The Exergy Audit translates these into a clear economic picture: what system fits, how much you save, what you earn. Use our free calculator to run the numbers yourself, or hire us to do it.
Design the Integration
The right hardware, in the right place, controlled correctly
Sizing is only the first step. The miner has to fit physically, connect to the heating distribution system, and respond intelligently to building demand. We design the full integration: hardware selection, control architecture, Home Assistant configuration, and the install plan your trades need.
Install & Commission
Get the system online and earning
Installation coordinates mechanical, electrical, networking, and controls in sequence. We either do this ourselves (local to Denver), guide you and your contractors remotely, or hand you the full DIY playbook. The system isn't done until it's heating, mining, and reporting correctly.
Monitor, Tune & Stack
The system keeps working. So does your stack.
A commissioned system isn't a set-and-forget. We log the first full heating season, compare actual to estimates, tune setpoints, and manage seasonal transitions. Exergy Relay gives you a customer portal at exergy.me, secure remote access to your Home Assistant dashboard, automated alerts for hashrate drops or temperature anomalies, and a monthly mining performance report — all for a 5% hashrate split. No subscription, no invoice. After Year 1, we review the economics and plan for expansion.
